Welcome to the World of Obsidian Quill Notebooks

If you believe a notebook should be as beautiful on the outside as the words you write inside, you’re in the right place.
Our notebooks are handcrafted in the UK, inspired by the dark, intricate worlds of steampunk and gothic design.
Each is individually decorated with a mix of media including air-dry clay, casting resin, decoupage, metal embellishments, fabric lace, paints, varnishes, and other materials, creating a tactile, 3D finish. No two are quite the same — and that’s exactly the point.
Whether you’re after something truly unique to treat yourself, or a gift that’ll genuinely stop someone in their tracks, take a look around and see what catches your eye.
You can order any piece directly here — or if you’d rather see them in person, catch us at craft markets across North West England.

“I ordered this beautiful notebook with quill and nibs as a present. The packaging was as magical as the book itself! It was boxed, wrapped in layers with silver tissue paper, black material and lace, with a small silver envelope for a note and business card, complete with wax seal! I really felt bad opening it but wanted to check everything – I have put it back as neatly as possible for the recipient to have the pleasure of opening it herself. I’d love to attach a photo but don’t want to spoil the surprise. I am more than happy with everything. The book is superbly made, and the attention to detail is brilliant. I received it slightly earlier than expected as well.” – Tina via Etsy
